Muscat: Following a successful weekend at the City Centre Qurum, the Go Red for Women campaign is coming to Muscat City Centre with complimentary heart health testing for women Thursday and Friday, from 5pm-9pm.

With the aim to raise the red flag on cardiovascular disease — the world's number one silent killer of women yearly — City Centre malls are encouraging women to take charge of their heart health through preventative testing.

A testing station will be set up in the Leisure Court where a qualified team of medical specialists from the Medical Simulation Centre will be administering a series of tests including blood pressure, blood sugar, body mass index (BMI) and cholesterol levels — key risk factors that can lead to heart disease if left unchecked.

Depending on the results, women at risk will be referred for further consultation at their discretion.

Founded by the American Heart Association in 2004, Go Red for Women has grown into a global campaign with more than 30 participating countries. Majid Al Futtaim has taken the campaign region-wide with 13 shopping malls across the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon and Oman supporting the initiative.
