Muscat: Texthelp, a leading company which provides literacy software solutions, is seeking to promote its innovative English learning software in Oman's market.

"We have noticed that Oman is an emerging market and there is a lot of emphasis on employing Omanis. So the main barrier at the moment is the English language," said Burrwa Nashat, regional manager at Texthelp, who recently visited Muscat as part of a trade delegation from Northern Ireland.

Nashat told Times of Oman that the software is the best of its kind in the UK and the United States.

It has helped a lot of people in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia to overcome the communication barrier, he noted, adding, "We are looking toward Oman as a new emerging market, especially now that it is trying to develop the local workforce."

According to the company, English Hero is an innovative market leading literacy software solution designed to help support the individuals with improvement of reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English.

Tourism, entertainment
According to Richard Hill, a manger representing the Deluxe Group, there is investment opportunities for Northern Ireland in tourism and entertainment sectors in Oman and the company is keen to utilise this potential.

"There are opportunities here because the tourism industry is increasing. We hope to have business partnership with a company here in Oman to implement projects, including in entertainment venues and hotels."

The Deluxe Group is a privately owned family run firm with over 30 years of experience of interior fit out and themed construction projects in the entertainment, leisure, hospitality and retail sectors.

The company's latest project involves creating themed set works and props for the new Disney 'Ratatouille' Ride in Paris. The idea of the project is to make visitors feel like the size of a rat.
