Though it's just a four-hour flight from Muscat, Sri Lanka seems like another world. Fondly referred to as the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean" , it is indeed like a jewel — thanks to its rich natural beauty. Its landscapes are lush and green, quite a contrast for visitors from the drier regions of Oman. From tropical banana and coconut trees to vast tea plantations and spice gardens, Sri Lanka offers beautiful views wherever you go, especially from its scenic railway routes. Here are a few images of what you might see if you visit Sri Lanka.
