Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said has assigned Dr. Salim bin Nasser al-Isma'eeli, Chairman of the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (PAIPED), to take part in the 44th edition of the World Economic Forum (WEF), due to be held during January 22-25 in Davos, Switzerland.
Around 2,500 figures representing about 100 countries will take part in the forum under the slogan 'The Reshaping of the World' : Consequences for Society, Politics and Business.
This year the forum will discuss the changes and challenges of the global economic growth and international issues. It will focus on four key topics, namely innovation, creativity, scientific explorations and technological inventions that contribute in upgrading the status of the society, growth of the community and the economic trends.
Panel discussion will be held on the sidelines of the forum to discuss the climate change, developmental goals, importance of the health care and the developments of the emerging markets.
In a statement, Dr. Al-Isma'eeli explained that the forum will discuss the most political, economic, social and technological issues in a bid to upgrade lives of the individuals and societies. He wished that the discussions would contribute in promoting the ideas to face the challenge of a changing world.
WEF is an annual event that gathers elite international economic decision makers, as well as a number of politicians and representatives of the non-governmental organizations, in a bid to exchange views on various issues.
