Muscat: Four citizens were arrested in the wilayat of Ibri in Dhahira governorate for stealing a vehicle and vandalising another.
The incident occurred when a group of people parked two vehicles in which they were travelling in wadi Alain in the wilayat of Ibri and went for a walk.
Taking advantage of the situation, one of the four accused stole one of the vehicles and smashed the glass panes of another. Later, in a search operation, the stolen vehicle was seized and some stolen objects were also recovered from the possession of the accused. The four accused were referred to the Public Prosecution for trial.
Theft of jewellery
The Criminal Investigation Department of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) arrested two persons of Asian nationality in a case of theft of jewellery from a house in the wilayat of Thumrait in the Wusta governorate.
The two accused were arrested following an investigation and search of the area. The first accused handed over the stolen jewellery to his friend, who in turn, sold it to a shop in the wilayat of Shinas. The two have been referred to Public Prosecution for investigation and trial.
The Drug Enforcement Department of the ROP has arrested two infiltrators who were found selling and abusing drugs in the South Batinah governorate.
The Drug Enforcement officers suspected the involvement of two infiltrators who had arrived at the Barka beach using a boat, and off-loaded a large quantity of drugs, burying it along the sandy beach.
The two infiltrators were caught red-handed and arrested.
A large quantity of narcotics was recovered from their possession, including 137 heroin capsules, big pieces of hashish and opium as well as 180 pills of tramadol. The two accused were referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and trial.
The Criminal Investigation Department of the ROP has managed to arrest seven accused aged between 28 and 37 years on the charges of stealing cash boxes from different shops in the wilayat of Salalah.
The seven accused committed burglary in six shops and warehouses and stole the safes having cash, cellphones and phone credit cards. After a search, all the seven accused were arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution for trial.
