104 expat women arrested on charges of prostitution in Oman

Muscat: A total of 104 expat women were arrested on charges of prostitution in Oman, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced.
According to officials, the arrests took place in Al Khuwair in the governorate of Muscat. The women were arrested on charges of violating public morals.
According to an official source from ROP, "The women were of Asian and African nationalities."
In a statement online, ROP said, “As part of the efforts to spread security and maintain public morals, the Royal Oman Police arrested 104 women of different nationalities, in various locations in Al Khuwair. [The women were arrested] on charges of violating public morals, labour laws and expats residence laws.”
Police officials added, “The defendants were referred to judicial authorities to complete the legal proceedings.”
