Muscat: Three expats have been arrested for possessing and using narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, while another was arrested for selling banned cigarettes and chewing tobacco, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced.
Regarding the first case an ROP spokesman said: "The Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Department arrested three Asian nationals [in possession of] marijuana [meant] for the purpose of trafficking and abuse. [The drugs were] confiscated."
In the second case, officials said that 100 packs of cigarettes and 32 bags of chewable tobacco meant for sale were confiscated from an “Asian expat”. The accused was arrested in the Wilayat of Izki.
Officials said that the case has been referred to the judicial authorities for further investigation and trial.
