Four arrested for cheating employers of more than OMR1 million

Muscat: Four employees, including three expats, have been arrested on charges of fraud in three separate cases in Muscat and Sohar, Royal Oman Police (ROP) has said.
In a statement, ROP said, "One citizen and one Arab national used authority granted to them by their employer for their personal interests, and signed contracts without tenders for a private company, resulting in financial losses of OMR1 million."
In the second case, another "Arab national employee" received monetary returns of more than OMR13,000. He did not hand over the returns to the employer, but took it for his own benefit, according to ROP.
"At the same time, the Criminal Investigations and Investigation Department at Sohar Police Station arrested an Asian employee after receiving a report from a company official that the defendant had embezzled more than OMR6,000," police added, about a third case.
