Indian expats in Oman could win a 15-day tour around their home country

Muscat: Indians living in the Sultanate will have the opportunity to test their brainpower in a special quiz competition being organised by India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
The 2nd annual Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz is open to all Indians living overseas, as well as to Persons of Indian Origin (PIO).
The contest aims to encourage members of India’s diaspora communities to nurture knowledge of their homeland, with a chance to win a 15-day tour of the South Asian country, among several other exciting prizes.
'Bharat Ko Janiye 2018' is open to overseas Indians between 15 and 35 years of age. Participants will be divided into two categories: Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and PIOs.
Quiz topics include Indian art, democracy, economy, geography, music, dance, science and technology, languages and literature, and education, among others.
‘Bharat Ko Janiye 2018’ will be conducted in four rounds. The first round of the quiz will be conducted online for NRIs and PIOs in Oman. The online quiz can be taken at portal: www.bharatkojaniye.in from June 28-July 28, 2018.
Advance online registration is mandatory to participate in the quiz. The top three participants from Oman in each first round competition category (i.e. NRI and PIO) will be awarded by the Embassy of India in Oman. They will also qualify for the second round of the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz.
The second round will be conducted online for all NRI and PIO winners of the first round. The top 10 worldwide finalists from the second round will qualify for the semi-final and final rounds in New Delhi. Airfare and hospitality will be organised for their success in reaching the last stages of the competition in New Delhi. Additionally, they will be invited to join the Bharat Ko Janiye Yatra, a 15-day tour of India.
The top three winners of the final round will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, as well as certificates during the 15th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas Convention 2019, which will be held from January 21 to 23, 2019, in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
