Police arrest group of persons for firing celebratory gunshots

Muscat: A group of people in the Sultanate were arrested after videos of them firing gunshots in celebration of Eid were uploaded to social media, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) confirmed in a statement.
In a Twitter post, the ROP said, "In reference to social media videos showing a number of people firing shots in the air in celebration of Eid Al Fitr, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation has successfully arrested the culprits and has taken legal action against them."
"The police call on citizens and residents not to commit such illegal actions."
