Muscat: More than 7,000 animals were slaughtered in the Governorate of North Al Batinah in the run-up to Eid Al Fitr, municipal authorities recently revealed.
In a post on twitter, the municipality said, "Working two morning and evening shifts from June 12, 2018 to June 15, 2018, the total number of slaughters performed in the Governorate's slaughterhouses was 7,234."
On the second day of Eid, an additional 1,033 animals were slaughtered, including 468 sheep, 534 goats, and 31 cows.
