Muscat: Dr. Fu’ad bin Ja’afar Al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, honoured in his office on Tuesday a team that won the first place in the field of STEM in Kuwait Innovation Competition for Girls 2018.

The winning team’s project was on “Combating Red Palm Weevil, with Safe Natural Extracts”.

The team included Afnan bint Ya’qub Al Rawahiya, and Palestine bint Ya’qub Al Azriya, and Samira bint Salim Al Selaimiyah from Umm al Khair school in the Directorate General of Education in the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah was the supervisor.

The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries praised the Omani youth’s ability to innovate and excel in all fields, noting that the ministry spares no effort to help the ambitious youth and provide all facilities and support for these projects that serve the agricultural sector in the Sultanate.
