Hotels, resorts offer discounts ahead of Eid holidays

Muscat: Hotels and resorts at tourist spots in Oman are offering rooms at discounted prices to woo visitors.
Some of these prices are as low as OMR20, hoteliers said. The Eid holidays would begin on Thursday, June 14, and end on Monday, June 18, this time.
Hoteliers said they started receiving requests for bookings as soon as the five-day break was announced, adding that they might get fully booked soon.
Al Sharqiyah
Sur and nearby tourist spots in Al Sharqiyah are expected to draw huge crowds during the holiday break. Ras Al Hadd Holiday resort, located just off the beach is one option. “We are offering single rooms for OMR20 and double ones for OMR25. A buffet breakfast would cost you an additional OMR5. We are optimistic about drawing lots of tourists since it is turtle nesting season and compared to Muscat, Ras Al Hadd is so much cooler, especially at night,” said a marketing executive at Ras Al Hadd Holiday resort, Faisal Ahmed.
Al Wusta
City Hotel in Duqm is offering rooms at just under OMR25, provided you book for two days. “At City Hotel Duqm, you can have a room for two nights for all of OMR49. It is the most ideally located hotel for visitors to Duqm and a comfortable midway halt for those traveling to Salalah,” said the cluster general manager of City Hotel, Vijay Handa.
Musandam
The enclave Musandam presents yet another attractive option for tourists. “On the occasion of Eid, Atana Hotel is pleased to offer special rates, starting from OMR35 including breakfast, and if three nights are booked, we offer the fourth night free,” said an official statement from Atana Hotel.
Barka
Al Nahda Resort & Spa in Barka is offering rooms for two adults and two children (under 12) this Eid, at rates starting at OMR39, said Dr. Mary Ann Roberta, director, marketing and development for Al Nahda Hotels and Resorts.
Nestled in an oasis of thirty acres of gardens, enclosed by sprawling greens and clusters of mango trees, Al Nahda Resort & Spa provides the ultimate in tranquility and relaxation. The resort’s 109 rooms are designed as apartments, free-standing villas and bungalows and it boasts some of the largest rooms in Oman.
Dhofar
With Khareef coming early this year, partly due to Cyclone Mekunu, Dhofar is likely to be greener and waterfalls are expected to be fuller.
The General Manager of Crowne Plaza Resort, Salalah, Manuel Levonian, said, “We are optimistic that this Khareef season will be different compared to last year as Cyclone Mekunu made Dhofar the centre stage of news. Hence, we anticipate a high demand of accommodations for tourists and our tailor-made packages will address the needs of our guests.”
Muscat
People from the interior of Oman, who want to enjoy sights in and around Muscat can also look forward to offers. “Ours is an offer available from June 14 to June 23. The Eid package is priced at OMR60 for two nights including taxes and service charges in a standard room (two adults and as many kids), inclusive of a buffet breakfast at the Palm restaurant and internet, rooftop swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam rooms,” said an official statement from Park Inn.
Food and beverages at the Palm restaurant can be had at a 15 per cent discount, it added.
