Muscat bourse remains volatile within a narrow range

Muscat: The MSM30 Index remained volatile within a narrow range and ended lower at 4598.180 points, down by 0.10 per cent. MSM Sharia index closed at 655.320 points, up by 0.14 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer of the day was National Aluminium Products, up by 2.41 per cent while Bank Sohar down by 1.43 per cent was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 301 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR4.09 million with more than 16 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 5 declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR1.64 million while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers of OMR1.16 million followed by foreign investors for OMR117,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost by 0.15 per cent to close at 7218.63 points, Bank Nizwa, Al Madina Takaful and Bank Muscat gained by 1.11 per cent, 0.97 per cent, and 0.53 per cent respectively. Bank Sohar being the biggest loser and was down by 1.43 per cent followed by Al Anwar Holdings, HSBC Bank Oman and Bank Dhofar which declined by 1.33 per cent, 0.84 per cent and 0.58 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended the day’s session at 6082.65 points, up by 0.07 per cent. National Aluminum was the only gainer in the sector and was up by 2.41 per cent to close at OMR0.340. While Voltamp Energy was and the only loser and was down by 0.68 per cent to close at OMR0.290.
Services Sector Index up by 0.06 per cent to close at 2,457.13 points.
