Oman's share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4602.780 points, up by 0.03 per cent. MSM Sharia index closed at 654.370 points. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume as well as the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Sembcorp Salalah, up by 2.26 per cent while Al Madina Takaful down by 1.90 per cent was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 202 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating a turnover of OMR659,000 with more than 3.16 million shares changing hands. Out of 13 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 7 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omanis investors were net buyers for OMR128,000 while Foreign investors were the net sellers for OMR98.
Financial Index lost by 0.16 per cent to close at 7229.44 points. Vision Insurance, National Bank of Oman and HSBC Bank Oman increased by 1.35 per cent, 1.11 per cent and 0.85 per cent respectively. Al Madina Takaful, Al Anwar Holdings, Bank Muscat, and Ominvest lost by 1.9 per cent, 0.66 per cent, 0.55 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended the day’s session at 6078.38 points, up by 0.03 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the only gainer and was up by 0.92 per cent to close at OMRO.110.
Services Sector Index up by 0.22 per cent to close at 2,455.76 points. Sembcorp Salalah and Oreedoo Oman gained by 2.26 per cent and 0.40 per cent respectively. Omantel was the only loser and was down by 0.53 per cent to close at OMR0.744.
