Oman share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 ended on a flat note to close at 4566.98 points, up by 0.06 per cent. MSM Sharia index closed at 651.16 points, declined by 0.45 per cent. HSBC bank Oman was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Phoenix Power, up by 4.17 per cent while Raysut Cement down by 5.06 per cent was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 337 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.73 million with more than 9.36 million shares changing hands. Out of 33 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 11 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, Oman investors were net buyers for OMR203,000 while Foreign investors were net sellers for OMR197,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR6,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index fell by by 0.34 per cent to close at 7136.21 points. Al Madina Takaful. Bank Nizwa, Gulf Investment Services and Taageer Finance declined by 1.83 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 0.96 per cent and 0.92 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended session at 6056.56 points, down by 0.28 per cent. Galfar Engineering, Oman Cement and Oman Flour Mills gained by 0.94 per cent, 0.56 per cent and 0.53 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement and Al Anwar Ceramic declined by 5.06 per cent and 0.90 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index closed at 2,479.62 points, up by 0.51 per cent. Pheonix Power, Omantel, Jazeera Services and Oreedoo Oman gained by 4.17 per cent, 2.21 per cent, 1.27 per cent and 0.40 per cent respectively. Batinah Power, Muscat City Desalination and Al Suwadi Power declined by 2.42 per cent, 2.08 per cent and 0.83 per cent respectively.
