Three-day leave declared for private sector employees in Dhofar

Muscat: Due to unstable weather conditions caused by cyclone Mekunu, three days of official leave has been declared for private sector employees in Dhofar, the Ministry of Manpower announced.
This comes in accordance with the directives of a Royal Decree issued earlier today, by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, in view of the weather condition in Dhofar, which is expected to continue for the coming days.
According to officials, “It has been decided that Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday the 11th, 12th, and 13th day of Ramadan 1439 Hijri, corresponding to 27, 28 and 29 of May 2018 will be an official holiday for all private sector companies and institutions operating in Dhofar.”
The ministry added “Businessmen and employers are entitled to agree to compensate for this leave if there is a need to work during these days in primary sectors and sectors necessary for the public.”
