At least 17 people rescued, medical care administered to several others

Muscat: At least 17 people were rescued by teams from the Public Authority for Civil Defense and Ambulance (PACDA), while officials also attended to emergency medical situations in Dhofar.
According to PACDA, at least 17 people were rescued by teams in operations that spanned the Governorate of Dhofar. This included the rescue of two expats in the district of Firaq, while six other people were saved by water rescue teams, and another person was rescued from a boat in Thumrayt.
Meanwhile, authorities rushed to the help of an expat woman in Salalah. “The ambulance crew of the Authority responded to the calls of an Asian woman in Salalah and provided emergency medical care at her residence. The patient is in good health now," PACDA announced.
The ambulance teams of PACDA in the governorate of Dhofar also responded to another emergency call, in the central market area in Salalah, and emergency medical care was provided to the patient on site," officials added.
Rescue teams spent the whole of Saturday morning saving lives of people trapped by cyclone Mekunu. Rescue missions and emergency medical care were administered to residents and citizens throughout Friday night and early Saturday morning.
