‘Media should highlight  growth under His Majesty’

Muscat: Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harasi, Chairman of the Public Authority for Radio and TV (PART), met in his office yesterday with the new board of directors of Oman Journalists Association (OJA) chaired by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Araimi.
The meeting covered the role played by OJA as one of the Omani civil society organisations in developing professional skills of its members through training and taking part in the various domestic and external events to enable them practice journalism as per the highest professional quality standards, according to a specified and clear framework that achieves the aims of the Association. Al Harasi pointed out that PART supports the activities of OJA and other official and private media organisations as they have a common national media message to convey to the different parts of the society.
He stressed the importance of enhancing awareness of the pillars and national achievements through the different cultural and media meets, especially in light of the regional and international changes which require the integration of such pillars, such as the cultural identity inspired from the rich Omani history and the unity of the Omani society.
He also underscored the importance of highlighting the deep implications of the comprehensive development process witnessed by the various governorates in the Sultanate under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. The meeting highlighted the role of OJA and PART in raising awareness of the Sultanate abroad through radio and TV programs and communication with foreign journalists and media men.
