Oman share index ends higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index gained by 0.12 per cent to close at 4595.16 points. MSM Sharia index closed at 661.96 points, up by 0.32 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Izz Islamic Bank, up by 2.63 per cent while Oman & Emirates, down by 2.29 per cent was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 487 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.61 million with more than 9.6 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 9 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, Foreign investors were net buyers for OMR172,000 followed by GCC& Arab investors for OMR109,000 while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR281,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained by 0.10 per cent to close at 7192.09 points. Ali Izz Islamic Bank and Bank Nizwa increased by 2.63 per cent and 2.30 per cent respectively. Oman& Emirates, Al Madina Takaful, Vision Insurance and Al Anwar Holding fell by 2.29 per cent, 0.91 per cent, 0.67 per cent and 0.67 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended Monday’s session at 6176.33 points, down by 0.15 per cent. Oman Fisheries, Oman Cables and Al Maha Ceramics declined by 0.86 per cent, 0.45 per cent and 0.42 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index up by 0.33 per cent to close at 2,479.70 points. OIFC was the only gainer and was up by 0.88 per cent to close at OMR0.114. Phoenix Power and Omantel fell by 1.60 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively.
