Two held for selling marijuana, illegal tobacco in Oman

Muscat: One person has been arrested by Royal Oman Police (ROP) on charges of possession and sale of drugs in the wilayat of Seeb, police announced.
A spokesman said: "The Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Department, led by police in Muscat managed to arrest an accused for smuggling and possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and abuse, in Seeb." A quantity of marijuana and a gun were seized from the suspect.
Similarly, an expat of "Asian" nationality was arrested in Bahla, after being found with 385 packs of banned cigarettes, 318 bags of chewing tobacco and one bag that contained marijuana seeds.
The two accused have been referred to the judicial authorities for further investigation.
