These two face creams are now banned in Oman

Muscat: Two face whitening creams - Jiaoli and Fatzh- have now been banned in Oman, the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) announced.
According to authorities, a decree was issued on May 9, 2018, to stop the circulation of Jiaoli that is imported from China and Fatzh that is imported from Pakistan. The products are reported to contain harmful chemicals, Mercury and Hydroquinone, respectively.
Authorities added, "Suppliers should withdraw all the existing products from all the markets of the Sultanate to preserve public health. Anyone who violates the decree shall be fined not less than OMR 50 and not more than OMR1,000 which will be doubled if the violation is repeated."
PACP further said that those who continue to violate the decree shall be fined not less than OMR50 and not more more than OMR 2,000 for all the days the decree has been violated
Authorities have urged the concerned parties to implement the decree.
