Oman Air to start new flight to Istanbul

Muscat: Oman Air will start a new daily flight from Muscat to Istanbul from June 1. This is part of the airline’s ambitious fleet and network expansion.
The airline offers very attractive fares that start from OMR99 for economy class, which got a big response from travellers. The airline’s holidays division has also come up with packages offering tickets, hotel stays, airport transfers and excursions at very competitive rates. Omanis travelling to Istanbul are eligible for visa on arrival. The airline is also starting flights to Casablanca and Moscow in July and October.
The Istanbul service will be operated by a Boeing 737-800. With a flight time of five hours and 25 minutes, flight WY163 will depart Muscat daily at 8pm, arriving in Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport at 12.25am. The return flight, WY164, will depart Istanbul daily at 1.25am, arriving at Muscat International Airport’s new, award-winning passenger terminal at 7.25am.
The new route will strengthen relations between Oman and Turkey, enhance trading and tourism prospects, and enable Oman Air’s guests to explore one of the world’s most thriving cities, the airline said. Istanbul is at the heart of Turkey’s economic, historical and cultural heritage and is a diverse and vibrant city with much to offer Oman Air guests travelling to this beautiful destination, it added.
The new passenger terminal in Muscat offers Oman Air guests a thoroughly enhanced service. It won the 2018 World Travel Award’s Middle East’s leading new tourism development project. Oman Air is proud to be operating up to 200 flights a day from the terminal.
The airline also flies to nine destinations in the GCC states, 11 in India, and seven in Europe, apart from the Indian Sub-Continent, Far East and MENA destinations, providing guests with more choice and easy connections across its network.
Oman Air is currently undergoing an exciting fleet and network expansion, which will see the airline operate up to 66 aircraft to around 60 destinations by 2022.
The airline continues to be recognised for its award-winning on-board experience, winning a raft of industry awards to add to its growing collection, Oman Air said.
