Oman’s new private museum costs OMR300,000

Muscat: The Madha Museum in Musandam Governorate that was inaugurated on Wednesday, costed OMR 300,000.
The museum, that was inaugurated by H.E. Sayyid Khalifa Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, “contains a diverse collection of archaeological, heritage and historical exhibits”.
According to officials, the museum is divided into several sections: archeology, folklore, rock inscriptions, fossils, weapons, manuscripts, documents, coins, precious stones and rings
"Madha Museum is a model of private museums established with the support of the government through the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, such as building of the old fort museum and supporting the restoration work of the museum of Bait Al Ghisham," The Ministry of Heritage and Culture said.
A few years ago, a day-long campaign on social media, primarily on Twitter, was what helped establish the Madha museum. After a few hours of discussions on Twitter among people from various quarters of the Omani society, the then undersecretary at the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, announced a fund worth OMR300,000 for establishing a complete Madha museum.
