Three restaurants that serve schools shut down in Oman

Muscat: Three restaurants that serve food to state schools were shut down, while another one was charged with health violations by Municipal authorities.
In the first case, the Municipality of Wilayat Al Kamil and Al Wafi in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate shut down three restaurants when they failed to comply with health standards. In the second case, the Department of Health Monitoring in Jalan Bani Bu Ali Municipality found three health violations in a restaurant. In both cases, food found unfit for consumption was destroyed.

In a statement online, Al Sharqiyah South Municipality authorities said, “Al Kamil and Al Wafi Municipality carried out an inspection visit this morning to restaurants and cafes providing state schools with food for students. Three restaurants were closed, three violations were issued and four kg of meat, utensils unfit for use were destroyed."
Municipal authorities added, “The Department of Health Monitoring in Jalan Bani Bu Ali Municipality carried out an inspection visit to restaurants and cafes that supplied food to school cafeterias in order to ascertain the health requirements. This resulted in the discovery of three violations and two decisions to destroy foodstuff.”
