Hockey: Oman’s former stars, officials visit Naqvi’s museum

Muscat: A number of former Omani stars and officials recently visited the museum of hockey memorabilia of famous hockey personality SAS Naqvi.
The first foreign coach of Oman national hockey team, Naqvi, who has served Oman sports for several decades in different capacities, has recently established his new museum at Al Noor Building in Ruwi.
Among those who visited the new museum were Oman Hockey Association’s former chairman Dawood Ahmed Al Raisi and treasurer Mohammed Shambeh Al Raisi.

G.V. Rama Krishna, Head of Expat Services, Sales and Marketing, Bank Muscat along with C.K. Somiah, a well-known hockey personality, also visited the museum and appreciated Naqvi’s memorabilia collected during his association with sports over 75 years, including four Olympics, five Asian Games and hockey World Cup besides his involvement with Oman Hockey Association and Oman Olympic Committee.
Earlier, Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) CEO Tayyib Ikram, who is also a member of International Hockey Federation (FIH) board, Tahir Zaman, former Pakistan star and current coach of Oman national team, and OHA’s international co-ordinator Munir Shakir also visited the museum.
Days after his visit, Tayyib Ikram also sent special items - through Ghulam Ghouse, the Director of Administrator at AHF, and Zahid Ali, hockey coach of Azerbaijan - to be displayed at the museum.
