Dar Al Atta’a delegation visits Rohingya camps in Bangladesh

In cooperation with the Omani authority for charity, Dar Al Atta’a Association visited Rohingya refugee camps in the city of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh. With help from the Deputy Head of Mission at the Sultanate’s embassy in Bangladesh, the delegation distributed food to nearly 1,000 families.
The delegation also inspected the land where Omani camps will be built for Rohingya’s refugees in the coming period, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
The delegation held several meetings with a number of UNHCR officials, Bangladeshi relief officials and local competent authorities.
The meetings were aimed at researching the construction camps, which will accommodate thousands of refugees, and to provide them with basic health and educational needs.
Speaking about the visit, head of Dar Al Atta’a Association Maryam Al Zadjali said: “Last January, the association inaugurated a campaign to provide relief to the Rohingya refugees fleeing from Myanmar to Bangladesh, especially following the suffering of the refugees during the recent period.”

Dar Al Atta’a is constantly looking at ways to be helpful and generous at home and abroad. In cooperation with the Omani authority for charity, they visited the refugee camps and researched their requirements. The Omani camps that will be constructed can accommodate thousands of families and meet their requirements in the near future. At the beginning of this year, Dar Al Atta’a launched a relief campaign for the Rohingya refugees from Myanmar to Bangladesh, whose number reached approximately one million.
To support these refugees, Dar Al Atta’a Association launched a donation campaign in January to collect financial aid for them. During the launch of this campaign, Maryam had said: “The association continuously tries to lend a helping hand inside and outside the nation, and hence, we have placed supporting the Rohingya refugees as one part of our aid agenda, as the refugees’ conditions have remarkably exacerbated; we have already started a campaign to amass financial donations to help them, in cooperation with the Oman Charitable Organisation.”
