Muscat: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) T20 finals will be broadcast live on a 200 inch screen at the Pakistan Social Club (PSC) on Sunday.
Cricket lovers are excited ahead of the final between defending champions Peshawar Zalmi and table toppers Islamabad United.
PSC secretary general Mohammad Zaeem said that the final would be a great spectacle on the huge screen. He added that the telecast would being at 9:00 pm, but people can show up an hour early.
“Entry is free, but preference would be given to club members. We do it for major PSL matches every year,” he said.
Zaeem added that he was excited as he was from Islamabad and his favourite team was playing. “I think Islamabad United will win it this year. But I reckon Peshawar’s Wahab Riaz will give Islamabad’s batsmen a tough time. We’ve seen him perform on the international stage. We know what he can do,” the PSC secretary general added.
Muscat-based, Peshawar native Farooque said that he was hoping for a repeat of last year’s finals when his home team beat Quetta.
“I think we will win it this year too. Darren Sammy is fit. So, that’s a boost. Kamran Akmal is in fine form this season. In fact, he has done really well in the past few games.
Farooque said that the four teams that had made it to the knock-out stages had been surprising this year.
“Multan had been doing well in the beginning, but they lost out towards the end. Lahore performed really poorly. So, that was expected. But at the end of the day, I hope Peshawar make it two in a row this year,” Farooque remarked.
