Oman’s consumer watchdog helps recover over OMR7,000

Muscat: The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) helped recover OMR7,650 in Seeb, officials from the department announced.
According to authorities, the money was recovered after a consumer filed a complaint against the owner of a car showroom.
“The PACP administration received a complaint from a consumer stating that he had purchased a vehicle from a car showroom, but after he paid for the car, the showroom owner started procrastinating and then refused to give him the car,” authorities from PACP said.
"After receiving the complaint, the administration followed the necessary procedures to resolve the issue. They called the owner of the showroom and informed him about the complaint. The department was successful in helping the parties reach a settlement and the showroom owner returned OMR7,650 to the consumer,” authorities added.
