Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has extended the renewal and cancellation period for commercial registration of individual enterprises and commercial companies until June 30, 2018, including the cancellation of 80,682 commercial registrations through the “Invest

Easy” portal.

The flow of requests for liquidation and cancellations exceeded 65 per cent of the total transactions through the portal, which caused delays in the completion of other transactions, such as addition requests and licenses.

The ministry apologised to all investors for the delay in the liquidation and cancellation requests and allocated more staff to complete the other applications, as well as to extend the period for cancellation of completed registrations.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said the “Invest Easy” portal was made available to simplify the process of registration for investors and their follow ups and that it was working to simplify the procedure by transferring all its services to a self-service electronic system.

The ministry also urged investors, companies and owners of small and medium enterprises to use the services provided by the “Invest Easy” portal, which can help expand their company activities, increase market share, and contribute to their own development and growth.
