Royal Cavalry’s ‘Saleh’ wins in France

Muscat: After a superb race, Royal Cavalry of Oman’s stallion ‘Saleh’ won the top place in the Prix Warda Jean-Francois Bernard races in the French city of Toulouse on Monday.
In the 2000m race for the Arabian horses, Royal Cavalry’s ‘Saleh’ and Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani’s ‘Meelad’ crossed the line in a Dead Heat finish taking the top honours in a field of 13 horses.
‘Saleh’, trained by Rohaut F, was ridden by Francois-Xavier Bertras. ‘Meelad’ was trained by Watrigant A and ridden by Olivier Peslier.
Meanwhile, Yas Horse Racing Management’s ‘Shadda’ad’, trained by Sogorb P and ridden by Jimmy Martin, won the third place.
The victory in Toulouse was second success of the year for ‘Saleh’.
The Royal Cavalry’s stallion also won the first place in a 1950m race in the southwestern French city of Pau on February 2.
