Oman Cricket: Maxitech, Challengers post thrilling wins

Muscat: Maxitech International scored a thrilling two-wicket win over Jotun CT in a Junior Cup Knockout Tournament match at Muscat Municipality Ground III in Al Amerat.
Invited to bat first, Jotun scored 149 for eight in 20 overs thanks to 46 each by Vineesh Raj and Makhdoom Peer Mohammed.
For Maxitech, Nousad Haneefa took two wickets.
In reply, Maxitech surpassed the target in 19.1 overs, scoring 150 for eight thanks to vital knocks by Sajeev Sathyanandan (55), Nousad Haneefa (28 not out) and Tamilkumaran Subbiah (24).
Sreelal Pillai and Predviraj claimed four and two wickets respectively for Jotun.
Brief scores: Jotun 149 for 8 in 20 overs (Vineesh Raj 46, Makhdoom Peer Mohammed 46; Nousad Haneefa 2/26) lost to Maxitech International 150 for 8 in 19.1 overs (Sajeev Sathyanandan 55, Nousad Haneefa 28 n.o., Tamilkumaran Subbiah 24; Sreelal Pillai 4/24, Predviraj 2/27).
Challengers down United
In another Junior Cup game, FDH Crazy Challengers defeated Global United by three wickets at Muscat Municipality Ground III.
Opting to bowl first, Challengers first dismissed United for 120 in 16.4 overs and then raced to the target in only 13.2 overs, scoring 124 for seven.
