Oman share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM30 Index ended lower at 5003.19 points, down by 0.17 per cent. MSM Sharia Index ended at 707.73 points, marginally down by 0.06 per cent. Sembcorp Salalah was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Al Madina Takaful was the top gainer, up 3.30 per cent, while the top loser was Oman Qatar Insurance, down 2.07 per cent.
A total number of 673 trades were executed on Sunday, generating turnover of OMR3.59 million with 14.74 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded securities, 14advanced, 10 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab were net buyers for OMR319,000 while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR268,000 followed by Foreign investors for OMR51,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained by 0.32 per cent at 7398.28 points. Al Madina Takaful, Al Madina Investment, Al Sharqiya Investment and Al Batinah Investment gained by 3.30 per cent, 1.82 per cent, 1.72 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively. Oman Qatar Insurance, Vision Insurance and Bank Sohar fell by 2.07 per cent, 1.27 per cent and 0.64 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index marginally up by 0.03 per cent to finish at 6810.32 points. National Aluminium and Oman Fisheries increased by 2.88 per cent and 1.46 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering and Oman Cement fell by 1.16 per cent and 1.02 per cent respectively.
Services Index down by 0.03 per cent to end at 2641.71 points. Renaissance Services, OIFC and Al Jazeira Services increased by 2.48 per cent, 1.50 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively. Semcorp Salalah , Omantel , Sohar Power and Oreedoo Oman fell by 1.79 per cent, 0.92 per cent, 0.76 per cent and 0.74 per cent respectively.
