Bank Muscat joins Buna payment system for enhanced customer experience

Muscat: In line with its commitment to provide an enhanced customer experience through innovative solutions, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has announced joining Buna, the Arab payment system operated by Arab Regional Payments Clearing and Settlement Organization (ARPCSO), a subsidiary of the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF).

A state-of-the-art payment platform, Buna provides clearing and settlement services across the Arab region in multiple currencies. It provides modern payment solutions that comply with international standards, principles and compliance requirements. Payments are settled in real-time as the remitter and beneficiary banks are direct platform participants. The Buna system aims to increase opportunities for economic and financial integration in the region, in addition to strengthening investment relations with trading partners.

This will enable our customers to send and receive cross-border multi-currency payments.
