Oman Cricket: GCC Blues clinch Veterans Cup

Muscat: GCC Blues defeated GCC Reds to lift the Veterans Cup in the Republic Day of India Al Yam Cricket Cup played at Al Gubrah Powerplan Ground last Friday.
In the title match, GCC Blues, after being asked to bat first, piled up 94 runs for the loss of six wickets in eight overs. The Blues then bowled out GCC Reds for 66 runs.
Indian Ambassador Indramani Pandey presided over the final day’s proceedings in the presence of guests of honour Aftab Patel, Managing Director of Al Omaniya Financial Services, Mohammed Hussain, Managing Director of Fahad Logistics, Arun Kumar Pandey, Managing Director of Al Yam Enterprises, Uday Dhanani, Anil Jwader, Nitin Sujnani, General Manager of ISC, Sanjay Tiwary, Managing Director of National Stones, Dr. Khalid Hussain, Lateef Shahzad, General Manager of Mass International (Schindler), Ashutosh Mithun, Babulal Kanojia, T.K. Sharma, Kishor J. Wader. Managing Director of Intisar Corporation, Ibrar Khan.
Individual awards went to GCC Reds’ Lateef Shahzad (best batsman), GCC Reds’ Kulwant Singh (best bowler), GCC Blues’ Pushpender Singh (best all-rounder) and GCC Blue’s Prince (player of the match).
The tournament, organised by Gulf Cricket Centre with support from Indian Social Club’s Bhojpuri Wing Oman, was sponsored by Al Yam Enterprises, Global Phone Technology, General Engineering Services, Grace Wood Trad. & Service, Oasis Water Company, Mass International (Schindler), Al Omaniya Financial Services, Bank Muscat, Malabar Gold Jewellery, Air India, Safari Technical Services, Mint Projects International, Fahad Logistics and Perfect International Engineering Services.
