International handicrafts exhibition comes to Oman

Muscat: The Sultanate will host a three-day International handicrafts exhibition from March 1 to 3, 2018, at Qurum Park.
The exhibition will coincide with the celebration of the 15th Omani Craftsman Day that falls on March 3.
According to the Public Authority for Craft Industries (PACI), this will be the largest gathering of international artisans. PACI said, “The exhibition aims at increasing the marketing competition between craft projects and also at enhancing the youth's demand for handicrafts. This attracts local, regional and international craftsmanship in various fields of crafts and handicrafts.”
A wide range of leading countries in the handicraft industry such as Qatar, Egypt, Lebanon, Algeria, Sudan, Iran, India, Sri Lanka, China, Malaysia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Nigeria will be participating in the exhibition.
The exhibition will also witness new forms of handicrafts using glass, silver and copper. New products using woolen, hand-made and natural dyeing fabric will be available. People can also pick up pottery, ceramics and antiques.
