Sultan Qaboos University cavalry holds first annual ceremony

Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) Cavalry held its first annual ceremony under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Harib bin Thuwaini Al Said, in the presence of Brigadier Abdul Razzaq bin Abdul Qadir Al Shahworzi in front of the University Tower Square.
The ceremony aims at introducing SQU Cavalry, which has become widely recognised in local and international forums.
The ceremony included musical performances by the band of the Royal Guard of Oman, poetry recitation and presentation about SQU Cavalry.
Dr. Omar bin Salim Al Jabri, Supervisor General of SQU Cavalry, Assistant Dean for Training and Community Service at the College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences, said in a speech that SQU Cavalry, under the supervision of the College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences have accomplished many achievements that overcome many challenges and difficulties, which resulted in obtaining various local awards, in addition to its constructive participation in preserving this legacy that has been extended for thousands
of years.
He added that the cavalry has an active contribution to teaching, scientific research, community service, and supports all groups, especially those with special needs.
He added that the team supports this group with equestrian treatment, which has proved scientifically successful in improving many categories of people with special needs.
It is worth mentioning that cavalry festival is currently being planned for March 29 to 31.
