Oman Trough: Farmers, livestock breeders, fishermen urged to take caution

Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) has urged farmers, livestock breeders, beekeepers, and fishermen expected to be affected by the rains in the Sultanate of Oman to take caution.

The Ministry calls on farmers, livestock breeders, beekeepers, and fishermen in the governorates expected to be affected by the rains to take the necessary precautions to ensure their safety, and the safety of their property. It calls on everyone to move away from dams and their drainage channels.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), previously announced that an upper air trough is likely to affect the Sultanate of Oman starting from Monday, March 27, 2023, until the evening of Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

Clouds advection, with isolated rain and occasional thundershowers, are expected over the Governorates of Musandam, Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi and Dhofar, and will extend till Tuesday to cover the Governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta. Occasional thundershowers associated with downdraft wind and hail are also expected.
