Oman Cricket: MCCC lift U-19 title despite defeat to ISM

Muscat: Muscat Cricket Coaching Centre (MCCC) claimed the Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Junior League Under-19 title despite losing their last game to Indian School Muscat (ISM) by seven wickets at the Ministry of Sports Affairs Ground II in Al Amerat.
MCCC topped the six-team standings, scoring 20 points from five matches with only one loss. The Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir (ISWK) were the runners-up with 16 points while ISM finished third with 12 points.
Asked to bat first, MCCC were dismissed for 121 in 35 overs. Harith Raghuram topscored with an unbeaten 51 off 78 balls. Prathaemesh Kumble was the main wickettaker, claiming four for 20 while Vrishabh Jasani and Shaju Nair claimed three and two wickets respectively.
ISM took a slow and steady way to victory, scoring 124 for three in 39.1 overs thanks to Vivek Iyer’s unbeaten 38 off 65 and Vrishabh Jasani’s 69-ball 30.
Brief scores: MCCC U-19 121 all out in 35 overs (Harith Raghuram 51 n.o., Prathaemesh Kumble 4/20, Vrishabh Jasani 3/21, Shaju Nair 2/17) lost to ISM 124 for 3 in 39.1 overs (Vivek Iyer 38 n.o., Vrishabh Jasani 30).
Muzahir inspires PSM
Young Muzahir Raza’s magical bat continued to amass runs, leading Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) to yet another victory against Bosher Olympic Centre (BOC) in an Al Turki Enterprises-sponsored Junior League Under-16 game at Muscat Municipality Ground II.
Batting first, BOC posted 180 for five in their stipulated 30 overs thanks to unbeaten 62 by Siddhant Gavankar and opener Rushil Dadwal’s 57.
PSM chased down the target in just 16.3 overs, scoring 181 for four. Muzahir led the way with a brilliant 73 off 46 while Syed Waleed Bukhari contributed 29-ball 42. Siddhant Gavankar bagged two wickets for BOC.
Brief scores: BOC U-16 180 for 5 in 30 overs (Siddhant Gavankar 62 n.o., Rushil Dadwal 57) lost to PSM U-16 181 for 4 in 16.3 overs (Muzahir Raza 73, Syed Waleed Bukhari 42).
Mohsin lifts Attic Outdoors
Attic Outdoors rode on Mohsin Raza’s brilliant all-round show to trounce OCT Al Hail A by five wickets in a Raha Poly Products-sponsored C Division clash at Muscat Municipality Ground I in Al Amerat.
Batting first, OCT Al Hail A scored 137 for nine in 20 overs. Only Younis Rahim Al Balushi batted with authority with an unbeaten 81 off 67 balls. Mohsin bowled well to bag three wickets while Mujtaba Ahmed took two.
Attic Outdoors achieved to target in 19.2 overs, scoring 140 for five with Mohsin hitting a vital unbeaten 39 off 20. Madhur Bhatnagar remained not out on 48 off 33. Ismail Rahib picked two wickets for OCT Al Hail.
