Oman Data Park opens in Duqm

Muscat: The new Oman Data Park (ODP) was officially inaugurated in Duqm on Tuesday.

Yahya bin Saeed Al Jabri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm (SEZAD) was the chief guest for the occasion.

The setting up of the company is the result of the signing of a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the SEZAD.

The company’s mandate will be to record economic data, traffic movement, and SEZAD’S commercial plans in Duqm.

The park is supposed to generate jobs in Duqm. ODP is a joint venture between Omantel, the telecom services provider and 4Trust, a data centre company based in the Sultanate.

They aim to provide various information technology (IT) services under a single integrated facility. This is the company’s third office, after Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), besides another in Wattayah.
