Oman elected  vice-chairman of Unesco bioethics panel

Unesco: The Sultanate has been elected to the post of vice chairman of the International Government Bioethics Committee ( IGBC) affiliated to the Unesco.
The Sultanate is represented by Ahmed bin Samit Al Badawi secretary of Oman’s National Bioethics Committee at SQU.
The Committee was established by a recommendation of the Unesco and a decision of the Council of Ministers in 2009, under the chairmanship of Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bimani vice chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University.
International Government Bioethics Committee (IGBC) is concerned with legal and ethical matters arising out of rapid scientific developments and inventories in the field of life sciences and their applications.
