Oman welcomes preacher Zakir Naik
Preacher Zakir Naik will deliver two public lectures in the holy month of Ramadan.

Muscat: For the first time in the Sultanate of Oman, the famous preacher Zakir Naik will deliver two public lectures in the holy month of Ramadan.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, (MERA), said: ” The Ministry represented by the Department of Introducing Islam and Cultural Exchange in the Iftaa Office is organising a lecture by the preacher Dr. Zakir Naik.
The lecture titled “The Holy Qur’an is a Global Necessity,” will be conducted on the evening of Thursday, Ramadan 1, 1444 AH (March 23, 2023) at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center (Madinat Al-Irfan Theatre).”

The Ministry also said that in cooperation and partnership with Sultan Qaboos University, a lecture will be organised by the preacher, Dr. Zakir Naik entitled "The Prophet Mohammed (may God bless him and grant him peace) is a mercy to humanity," on the evening of Saturday, the third day of Ramadan (March 25, 2023) at Sultan Qaboos University (Great Hall).

Omanis welcomed this visit through social media, appreciating the efforts of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs and those in charge of this visit.

Zakir Abdul Karim Naik, born October 18, 1965, is an Indian Islamic preacher, and founder and president of the Islamic Research Foundation. He is also the founder of the Peace Channel.

Zakir Naik won several awards and accolades such as

1." Prestigious Islamic Personality” award by Dubai International Award for the Holy Qur’an

2. Distinguished International Personality for the year 2013 by the King of Malaysia, Abdul Halim Moazzam Shah

3. Commander of the National Order of the Badge by the Republic of The Gambia

4. Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from the Governing Council of the University of The Gambia in 2014

5. King Faisal International Prize” for “Service to Islam” for the year 2015 by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

6. "Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work" for the year 2013 by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah
