Muscat: Design Group Engineering Consultants trounced OCT Al Nahdha by 83 runs in a G Division game at Muscat Municipality Ground IV.
Batting first, Design Group amassed 226 for six in 20 overs thanks to brilliant strokeplay by Waseem Raza (65 off 30) and Dixon Mariyadasan (62 off 30). Khalid Al Balushi bagged two wickets for OCT Al Nahdha.
Facing a daunting task, OCT Al Nahdha struggled to keep up with the net run rate despite an excellent opening start of 99 runs between Mohammed Al Balushi (58 off 38) and Sameer Al Balushi (36 off 44) and managed to score only 143 for 6 in 20 overs. Tasleem Rasheed bagged three wickets while Michael Bose took two for Design Group.

Yusuf lifts Sketch International
Sketch International rode on Yusuf Patanwala’s elegant 73 off 55 to thrash Jotun CT by eight wickets in an H Division clash at OAC Ground III in Al Seeb.
Opting to bat first, Jotun scored 135 for eight in 20 overs. Renju Pillai (40 off 36) and Mahesh Surendran (35 off 21) were the main scorers. Manish Bhatia claimed three wickets while Murtuza Murgha and Yusuf Patanwala scalped two each.
In reply, Sketch International achived the target in 18 overs, scoring 136 for two thanks to Patanwala’s unbeaten knock. Manish Bhatia batted well too for his 48 off 45.

Vibin stars of IBN Blasters

IBN Blasters emerged I Division champions after winning their last league match against Taurus XI by 20 runs thanks to a wonderful all-round show by Vibin Panaparambil in a match played at OAC Ground III.
Invited to bat first, Blasters posted 165 for eight in 20 overs, Vibin leading the way with a solid 82 off 52. Arun Ramachandran was the only other notable scorer, making 27 off 23. For Taurus XI, Faraz Ismail claimed three wickets while Mujahid Surve bagged two.
Reeling at 36 for four in the seventh over, Taurus could never really recover to pose a serious challenge and folded up for only 145 in the 20th over. Batting at number 11, Patel Ketan was the highest scorer with 33 off 25, followed by Faraz Ismail (28 off 16) and Bori Amin (26 off 25). Vibin was exceptional with the ball too, taking four wickets for 16 while Sujith Babu and Azad Said Mohammed bagged three and two respectively.
