Oman shares end marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 Index remained stable at 5,005.87 points, up 0.04 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 711.06 points, down 0.03 per cent. National Bank of Oman was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Wednesday’s top gainer was Muscat Thread Mills, up 5.81 per cent while Al Batinah Development was the top loser, down 4.55 per cent.
A total number of 223 trades were executed, generating turnover of OMR1.71 million with 8.51 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded securities, 5 advanced, 7 declined and 25 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors remained net buyers for OMR86K followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR18,000 while Foreign investors were net sellers for OMR104,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index ended marginally lower at 7,399.59 points, down 0.02 per cent. Al Batinah Development and Al Anwar Holding declined 4.55 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index declined 0.09 per cent to close at 6,764.30 points. Muscat Thread Mills, Al Anwar Ceramics and National Aluminium gained 5.81 per cent, 0.76 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries, Oman Flour Mills and Oman Cement declined 1.45 per cent, 0.96 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed at 2,649.12 points, up 0.06 per cent. OIFC and Al Batinah Power gained 0.76 per cent and 0.72 per cent respectively. Oman National Engineering and Al Suwadi Power declined 1.55 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively.
