More than 9,000 Omanis get private sector jobs, ministry says

Muscat: More than 9,000 citizens have been appointed in private sector companies in the last couple of months, the Ministry of Manpower said in a statement on Wednesday.
This is in continuation of the efforts exerted by all governmental and private bodies to provide job opportunities for job seekers, as approved by the Council of Ministers in this regard.
A total of 9,193 citizens were appointed in various private sector institutions during the period from December 3 to February 5, the statement said.
The statement pointed out that 4,657 citizens holding below general education diploma certificates, 2,989 with general education diploma, and 1,547 citizens with high diploma and university degrees were appointed during the period.
The Ministry of Manpower stresses that the government is continuing to provide job opportunities that have been approved in accordance with the plan currently being implemented to accommodate job seekers with the various opportunities available in the private sector.
The ministry will publish the third list of job seekers to conduct tests and interviews to recruit them in private sector companies.
