Egyptian president meets Omani businessmen, investments, joint logistics projects discussed

Muscat: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt met at Al Alam Palace Guesthouse on Tuesday with a number of Omani businessmen, within the framework of his current state visit to the Sultanate.
Dr. Ali bin Mas’oud Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry said that a number of Omani businessmen were honoured to meet with the Egyptian President as the meeting touched on some topics, such as the mining sector in Egypt, the ports and free zones sector.
He added that the meeting also touched on the topics of increasing the air traffic between the two brotherly countries, as well as activating the businessmen council between the two countries and the available opportunities in the food and petrochemical industries.
Dr. Al Sunaidi said that during the meeting the businessmen were briefed on the available opportunities in increasing the direct trade exchange between the Sultanate and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The meeting was attended by Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs (Head of Mission of Honour Accompanying the President), Dr. Ali bin Mas’oud Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Issa’ei, Sultanate’s Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Delegate to the Arab League, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and members of the official delegation accompanying the guest.
After the meeting, which was attended by representatives and chief editors of the Egyptian newspapers, Karam Gabr, Head of the Egyptian National Press Authority hailed the good relations between the Sultanate and the Arab Republic of Egypt, valuing the stances of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said that serve interests of the Arab and Islamic nations.
He said that the Sultanate has historic and noble stances that reflect its keenness on promoting the Arab relations. He explained that these stances contribute in coming up with a just and peaceful settlement that would serve the interests of peoples.
