Memorable moments of Muscat Festival

The most awaited and celebrated event in the Sultanate, Muscat Festival, is in its final week, weaving memorable moments and unforgettable experiences for those who had the opportunity to set foot in the colourful Al Naseem Garden and Amerat Park.

Owing to its diverse and enjoyable events, the festival witnessed an enormous increase in the number of visitors from the Gulf and around the nation, who came to explore and revisit the beautiful and historic culture of Oman. Visitors thoroughly enjoyed the extravaganza.

This year, the festival brought back a number of popular sections such as the Heritage Village, where families got up, close, and personal with the Bedouin culture and the local identity. They learned all about making pottery and halwa, among other things, giving visitors a glimpse of the ancient Omani culture.

Another celebrated corner was the exhibition centre, which displayed a variety of products and bargains that suited all tastes. Other activities included the Marine Environment section, artisans’ exhibition for art lovers, sports competitions for athletes, and special activities for people with hearing disabilities.

Further, the organisers also offered art lovers a treat for their passion, ranging from fine arts to performance arts. At the main theatre, performances from across the globe took centre stage, as artists showcased their entertaining choreography, folklore music, band performances, and live concerts.

Educational activities also formed a major attraction. Some of the events comprised informative presentations, lectures, and targeted cultural meetings, which were attended by many visitors.
For sports enthusiasts, the Muscat Festival offered a chance to participate in a variety of games and competitions that witnessed a cheering audience. Visitors also showed great interest in the Omani Society for Cars, which displayed rare and pristine-looking classic cars.

The hugely-successful annual event was visited by many journalists from around the world, including countries such as Egypt, Sudan, Kuwait, Qatar, and Malaysia. Visitors expressed anticipation for next year’s Muscat Festival. —[email protected]
