This is how much you'll need to bid minimum for a VIP phone number

Muscat: Around 200 people registered on the first day for the auction of Diamond and Gold level VIP mobile phone numbers, with initial prices of these numbers ranging from OMR200 to OMR1,500.

The highest initial price registered for an Omantel Diamond phone number is OMR1,500 (for the numbers 7111 1111, 7171 7171), while Ooredoo’s auction site lists OMR1,300 as the top initial price for the Oredooo Diamond numbers 7907 7777 and 7910 0000.
Majid Khalid Al Balushi Senior Specialist, Media Department at the Telecom Regulatory Authority said, “The registration period for the auction will end on Thursday. At 10:00 am the actual bidding will begin and it will continue for two days.
“On Saturday at 10:00 am the auction will end, and next week we will announce the winners.”
He added: “Until now, around 200 people have registered for the auction and we hope more people will register, since the auction money will be donated to charity.”
