Oman tennis: Yash faces Shlok in U-18 final of ISC tourney

Muscat: The stage is all set for the grand finale of the ISC-Muscat Pharmacy Open Junior Tennis Tournament which will conclude on Friday evening at the Indian Social Club (ISC) in Darsait.
The two finals to be played, the girls under-18 and the boys under-18 singles promise tennis enthusiasts two pulsating matches.
Yash Tanna, the top seed in the boys under-18 singles will take on his ISC club-mate Shlok Ail. Yash earned his berth in the final with a convincing 6-2, 6-3 victory over Eyad Al Khanjari in the semifinal.
Shlok Ail earned his place in the summit clash the hard way, defeating fourth seed Sanskar Dubey 7-5, 6-4 in the second semifinal.
Sanskar and Shlok displayed brilliant attacking tennis with Shlok the more adventurous of the two while Sanskar had the tendency of becoming tentative when he had the lead in both sets. Yash vs Shlok should give the spectators a power-packed final.
Equadorian Rafaell Saa and talented Omani Maryam Al Balushi will contest the girls under-18 final. Rafaella, the defending champion, booked her place in the final after registering a convincing 6-1, 6-1 victory over Sanjana Girish and in the second thrilling semifinal, Maryam overcame Aisha Al Suleimani 7-5, 6-4.
