Oman Cricket: Renaissance, FAP UTSC and OCT Seeb win

Muscat: Renaissance rode on Amit Eranda’s match-winning show to upset Salman Stores for a 93-run victory in the Khimji Ramdas-sponsored A Division clash at Ministry of Sports Affaris Ground I in Al Amerat.
Asked to bat first, Renaissance posted a fighting 235 for eight in their quota of 50 overs. Opener Robins Barmeda led the way with a solid 50 off 100 balls to keep one end safe. Batagoda Ranasinghe (42 off 94) and Amit Eranda (41 off 30) also made valuable contributions.
Imran Haider was the most successful bowler for Salman Stores, claiming four wickets while Imran Asghar Ali bagged two.
Salman Stores had a rare bad day with the bat as they folded up for 142 in 38 overs despite good knocks by Asim Kamal (43 off 69) and Muhammed Azeem (26 off 14).
Amit Eranda bowled superbly to claim three wickets while Jabin Jabbar, Batagoda Ranasinghe and Kurukulasuriya Fernando took two wickets each.

Shaidh’s ton powers FAP

FAP UTSC thrashed MCCC New by eight wickets thanks to Shaidh Kootarathuttathil’s swashbuckling 113 not out off 51 balls in an Al Ansari Group-sponsored B Division game at Muscat Municipality Ground I.
Batting first, MCCC New were all out for 166 in 30 overs. Nihal Prakash scored 33 off 36 while Mohammed Samir contributed 30 off 37. FAP captain Faleel Thailakandy claimed two wickets.
FAP UTSC faced no difficulty in chasing down the target, scoring 169 for two in 18.3 overs thanks to Shaidh’s brilliant knock. Raished Parambath remained unbeaten at 24 off 35. Sidh Hemal Mehta bagged two wickets.

Younis, Yousuf star
OCT Seeb tightened their grip on Raha Poly Products-sponsored C Division title with yet another win, beating Qurum Business Group (QBG) by six wickets.
The all-Omani side has one game still to play and can surpass Basta on top and become champions if they win the last encounter as Basta have already played their six matches.
Opting to bowl first, OCT Seeb dismissed QBG for 143 in 19.4 overs thanks to brilliant bowling by Younis Al Balushi who claimed four wickets and Issa Al Balushi who took two. Prem Kumar topscored for QBG with 46 off 32 while Muthumurugan netted 20 off 25.
OCT Seeb raced to their target in 17.5 overs, scoring 147 for four. Yousuf Al Balushi led the way with an unbeaten 51 off only 29 balls while Abbas Al Balushi and Samir Al Balushi contributed 30 and 25 respectively. Aditya Vithal claimed two wickets.
